What's up buttercups? I'm Merissa Smith and I will be the RA for the first floor south side. I am so excited for all of you to be integrated into this family at the lofts. I hope you are all as excited as I am because well... excitement is what is going to make college just as fun as everyone keeps telling you it is. I'm a sophomore majoring in Family and Child Development with a History minor. I grew up as a military brat so I call many places home but my family is currently in Georgia. (If you started singing "Georgia's on my Mind" you are now my favorite person). I am the third oldest out of a batch of 9. So a little more about me... I tell little kids I'm a mermaid, because well maybe I am. You don't know me.  People call me spontaneous, but they also call me Merissa, so you choose. I enjoy the simple things in life; the outdoors, high school musical, yachts, tigers on a gold leash... you know, simple. I love old things. Unless its food, then I'm extremely disgusted with it. I'm talking more about old vinyl's and antiques. My friends like to call me their hippie. That's true. I am a hippie, but not the kind that goes weeks without showering or likes to party at Woodstock. No, I'm more of the "make your own shampoo, live a life that helps reduce the impact we have on the environment, get outdoors, choose organic and local foods" type of hippie. I love yoga and taught a class at SVU last year. I love the ocean. I scuba dive, surf, snorkel and whatever else that can be done on the water. I love to travel. Wanderlust is a disease that I hope to have forever. I'm into the whole "bbbeee yourrseeellff" motto. We are all crazy and weird in our own unique ways so how about we be are crazy-selfs together, yeah? Kay.
